Ainhoa ​​Murua tonight in “Bat to London”

One of the toughest modalities of the Olympic Games will have at least one Basque representative: Ainhoa ​​Murua from Zarautz will return to compete in the triathlon after her two participations in the last editions of the Games.

The monitoring of athletes from the Basque Country who choose to qualify for the London 2012 Olympic Games is the objective of the monthly program 'BAT to London 2012', whose sixth installment is broadcast this Thursday starting at 22:30 p.m. on ETBK Sat.

Presented by Iñigo Asensio, this space follows the preparation of the Basque Olympians and also includes in-depth interviews with the athletes and their families and coaches, testimonies from veteran Olympians, or monitoring the preparations in the British capital of what will be the main world sporting event in 2012.

Martín Fiz will be in charge of opening the last program of the series in 2011, in which he will describe his Olympic participation in the marathon. The athlete from Vitoria starred in a spectacular fourth place in Atlanta 1996 and was sixth in Sydney 2000, fighting with the best athletes in the specialty.

The program will continue with one of the first Basque athletes to qualify for the London 2012 Games. This is the Irun shooter Juanjo Aranburu, who already participated in the skeet event in Beijing 2008. After recently becoming world champion , his aspirations for next summer's competition are maximum. The 'BAT to London 2012' team has been with the Gipuzkoan shooter at his training center in Mallorca.

On this occasion, the whitewater channel in which the slalom canoeing events will be held has received the visit of a large Basque representation, led by the state coach, and former Olympian in Barcelona'92, Xabier Etxaniz.
