Comeback and second victory in the Santamaría race
The test began at 8: 30 in the morning with the 3.800 meters swimming in the swamp of Landa where the first to leave the water was Pakillo Fernández Cortes followed closely by Mattew Leeman. To 1: 20 of the head was a group of 4 with Xavier Torrades and Dani Múgica
Really, Daniel Marín was the first to get out of the water but he did not compete as a professional, but in age groups 35-39 years.
In the cycling sector, in the first 100 kilometers of the race, Pakillo Fernández was leading, followed by Pedro Gomes, and by Daniel Múgica, who passed third at that point.
Little by little Dani Múgica, bronze in the past MD Spain Championship, was climbing to be the leader of the test to reach the T2 with 1 minute advantage over Raúl Tejada and 1: 30 over Pedro Gomes who left the bike in third position.
In the 42 km of running, we could see how Alejandro Santamaria was climbing positions to reach the lead with 10 kilometers remaining, followed by Xavier Torrades and Raul Tejada in third position at that point.
Finally Alejandro Santamaría got his second victory in the test with a time of 8: 17: 05 followed by Xavier Torrades (8: 19: 00) and for Raúl Tejada (8: 22: 23) occupying the third final position
