Alex Yee to run Valencia 10K before London Marathon

January 12, Alex Yee, double Olympic and world triathlon champion, will be on the starting line of the 10K Ibercaja by Kiprun in Valencia.

This event, considered the fastest 10K in the world, will serve as preparation for one of the British's most important challenges in 2025: the London marathon, which will be held on April 27.

The decision to participate in Valencia reinforces the reputation of this race as a point of reference for the best long-distance runners, both for the quality of its route and for the level of the participants.

A key test 14 weeks before the marathon

At 26, Alex Yee is not only a benchmark in triathlon, but has also demonstrated his ability on the track.

His career includes personal bests such as the 27:51 in 10.000 metres achieved in 2018 and a promising performance over long distances.

The Briton will look to take advantage of the 10K in Valencia to measure his physical condition and adjust his training for London, where he plans to run between 2:07 and 2:10 in his marathon debut.

A circuit of world records

The Valencia 10K is known for its speed and ability to set historic records. In previous editions, athletes such as Agnes Jebet have written their name into the history books, becoming the first woman to go under 29 minutes in 2023.

Continental and national records have also been broken, consolidating Valencia as a privileged destination for the world's elite.

Alex Yee: The Legacy of a Champion

With two golds olympics, a silver and a bronze at the Games, in addition to her recent World title In Torremolinos, Yee has proven to be one of the best triathletes in history.

His strength in the running segment has allowed him to excel in both triathlon and athletics scenarios.

This new challenge in the marathon confirms his ambition to broaden his sporting horizons, while he continues training in swimming and cycling disciplines.

The future of the British triathlete

Although Yee will be focusing on athletics in the coming months, she is not completely abandoning triathlon.

According to recent statements, his intention is to continue competing in both disciplines, adapting his calendar to balance the specific work in each one.

His participation in the 10K Valencia will be the first major event in a year full of sporting challenges.
