Alex Yee and Lisa Tertsch win the World Triathlon Series in Weihai

Alex Yee has won with authority in the first edition of the Weihai World Triathlon Series, China.

The British Olympic champion demonstrated his excellent form, leading a large group after the 1.500-metre swim and maintaining his leading position throughout the eight-lap cycling leg.

Yee, known for his powerful run, sealed his victory in the race with a comfortable lead over his pursuers, making it clear who is the king of triathlon at the moment.

The men's race was not without excitement. Léo Bergere, from France, who had an outstanding performance in the cycling stage, managed to take second position at the finish line.

The brazilian Miguel Hidalgo, one of the emerging stars of the circuit, completed the podium with a creditable third place, his best result so far and his first time on a podium in the WTCS.

The Spanish Alberto González finished in fourth position. Antonio Serrat  finished in 13th position and Roberto Sánchez  It was 20º.

Hayden WildeThe New Zealander, who has been involved in intense battles with Yee in recent races, was unable to find his rhythm this time.

The difficulty of the cycling segment took its toll on him and he finished seventh, proving that the rivalry between the two is still going strong, but with Yee taking the lead.

In the women's event, the German Lisa Tertsch took victory in a race dominated by the British. Tertsch, who has had a very solid season, showed her quality with great control in all three disciplines.

Spanish Participation

The Spanish triathletes had an outstanding performance in Weihai, with Alberto González  shining in fourth place for men with a time of 01:49:47, demonstrating his excellent competitive level.

Antonio Serrat also had a solid performance, finishing in 13th position with a time of 01:50:48, while Roberto Sánchez He finished in 20th position with a time of 01:52:07.

In the female category, Miriam Casillas achieved a creditable 19th place with a time of 02:11:11, closely followed by Anna Godoy , who finished 21st with 02:12:37.
