Alistair Brownlee wins IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea

The Spanish Antonio Benito has been second

Today is the first edition in Wales the first edition of the IROMMAN 70.3 Swansea with a good poster of professionals.

The presence of the double Olympic champion stood out, Alistair Brownlee, who has put on a bib again after several months without competing.

Two weeks ago he participated in the Canadian Open but did not have a good performance due to some gastric problems in the race, although he was the leader in almost the entire test.

Today he took the start wanting to get rid of the bad taste in his mouth.

In the swim Alistair was second 4 seconds behind Andrew Horsfall. Antonio Benito came out in fourth position, 55 seconds behind the leaders.

In the cycling segment, the Briton took the lead, leaving alone from the beginning. He passed through kilometer 20 of the segment with a 1:41 advantage over his pursuers.

Arriving at T2, his difference was 5:39 over Lian Lloyd and he started the race on foot alone to seek victory.

At this point Antonio Benito was fifth and fully in the fight for third place.

Finally Alistair Brownlee He has taken the victory with a finish time of 3:49:34.
