Alistair Brownlee, retirement and new ultra-distance goals

After 18 years competing at the highest level, Alistair Brownlee confirmed in November his withdrawal of professional triathlon.

The double Olympic champion from London 2012 and Rio 2016 closes a historic era in which he has taken the sport to new heights, becoming one of the most admired triathletes on the international scene.

A farewell after 18 years of glory

The trajectory of Alistair Brownlee has been marked by her competitive spirit and her inexhaustible determination.

She debuted on the elite scene in 2007 and, since then, has continued to amaze with her ability to dominate all three disciplines. He mentioned tests such as the “British Divide”, a journey that runs from one end of the United Kingdom to the other without logistical support and which extends over several days.

Exploring multi-sport survival and ultra-endurance events, Alistair Brownlee keeps the competitive flame alive.

He said his main motivation is to stay active and connect with nature. The Yorkshireman wants, above all, to “discover new frontiers” of his physical and mental abilities, after a career full of successes.
