Ana González and Álvaro Sánchez win the MTRI Alicante sprint.

The Albacete Res Triathlon Club sweeps the board on a day marked by participation and family excitement.

May 17th dawned with energy at Postiguet Beach to kick off the MTRI Alicante 2025.

More than 400 triathletes They met on this first day, dedicated to the sprint distance, in a new location and with the special addition of the family duathlon, a non-competitive event that brought smiles to everyone, young and old.

From the swim it was noticeable that the Albacete Res Triathlon Club I came with a desire for everything.

In men, Alvaro Sanchez led the race from start to finish and took the victory with ease. In the women's category, her teammate Ana González He copied the strategy and left no room for doubt.

The fight for the other podium spots was closer and was decided in the final, demanding 4,8 km of the run.

Additionally, the CT Albacete Res took the trophy to men's club with the greatest representation, consolidating their dominance on this opening day.

Couples Triathlon: Group Excitement

The pairs modality, which brings together three triathletes who complete the three segments together, also had great participation with 90 triathletes in competitionThe winners were:

  • Mixed couple: Vicente Guanter y Elena Sancho
  • Male couple: Tony Font y David Campos
  • Female partner: Elena Besarán y María Victoria Fernández

The family duathlon, the jewel of the afternoon

To close the day, families took center stage with the family duathlon, a party where the little ones, some as young as 4, shared the journey with their mothers and fathers.

There was no stopwatch, but there were many emotions and medals that will remain forever in our memories.

This format will return in Valencia (May 31) y Castellón (July 5).

What's next: Olympic and supersprint on Sunday

This Saturday afternoon the bibs for the races will be handed out. Olympic distance y supersprint, which will begin tomorrow, Sunday, from 8: 15 pm.

The highlight will be the climb to the Santa Barbara Castle, which promises to be decisive in both the Olympic (5 laps) and the supersprint (1 lap of 7,2 km). Everything is ready to continue enjoying the Spain's most popular triathlon circuit.
