Anne Haug, former world champion of HOMBRE DE HIERRO, and recent winner of the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote A few weeks ago, he participated this weekend in the IRONMAN 70.3 in Nice in the Age Group category, surprising everyone.
Haug's decision to participate in a non-PRO event has generated various speculations about his preparation strategies for the next IRONMAN World Championship that will also take place in Nice.
Anne Haug, who took victory in Kona in 2019 and is currently the runner-up in the world, was not only looking for quality training, but also to familiarize herself with the circuit she will face in September.
His race time was 4:38:44, notably lower than other competitors in his category, showing that he is in top shape.
The IRONMAN organization granted Haug's special request to participate in this category, even though professionals are not normally allowed to compete in Age Groups.
From the technical point of view, Anne Haug She started swimming in the last group, however, her performance in the race was exceptional, even surpassing the overall Age Group champion, France's Sandra Huon, by a considerable margin.
