Approved the FETRI competition calendar for 2022

The Delegate Commission of the Spanish Triathlon Federation has approved the final calendar of FETRI competitions for the year 2022.

The National Club Leagues, that individual Spanish championships  and National Rankings and the Spanish Cup for Medium and Long Distance.

The FETRI calendar is joined by international competitions such as Melilla and Barcelona European Cups, Valencia World Cup, A Coruña Paratriathlon World Cup, or the competitions of the Bilbao-Bizkaia Multisport European Championship, in a program that could still bring news.

Individual Spanish Championships

The first individual titles of the season will be put into play at the Spanish Winter Triathlon Championship in Ansó, on February 13.

The following medals, in the National Duathlon Medium Distance and Standard distance, They will be held on March 6 in Soria, and the Spanish Duathlon Championship will take place in Avilés on April 23 and 24.

The qualifiers for the national Duathlon championship will be two, on February 20 in the Duathlon of Carnavales de Águilas, and on February 26 in the Duathlon of Berlanga de Duero.

During the month of May the Spanish Long and Medium Distance Triathlon Championships.

The first will take place at the Tradeinn International Triathlon 140.6INN in Platja D'Aro, on May 8, including the Spanish Aquabike LD Championship.

On May 14, at the Half Triathlon Pamplona, ​​the medals and titles of the Spanish Medium Distance Triathlon Championship will be awarded, as well as those of Aquabike MD.

Both events will also be the first two appointments, with the highest score, in the Spanish Cup of Triathlon MD and LD, and also form part with the highest level of points, of the National Ranking of Triathlon MD and LD.

Santander, Banyoles and Cartagena will also host individual championships. In Santander the Spanish SuperSprint Triathlon Championship, on May 28 and 29.

In Banyoles the National Olympic distance Triathlon, on August 27 and 28; and in Cartagena, as part of the Water Games program, the last medals of the FETRI 2022 season will be awarded, corresponding to the Spanish Sprint Triathlon Championship.

The Aragonese town of Tarazona, on May 14, and the Murcian town of Calasparra, on June 12, will host the qualifiers for the national Olympic distance race in Banyoles.

Punta Umbría, on May 8, and Narón, on July 30, will host the qualifiers with places for the Sprint championships in Cartagena.

Logroño will be another novelty in the calendar of Spanish Triathlon Championships in 2022, hosting on June 25 and 26 the national tests by Autonomies and School Age.

The Spanish Duathlon Cros, Triathlon Cros and Aquathlon championships will be held again in the same weekend and at the same venue, which will be the natural environment of Almazán, in Soria, on July 16 and 17.

National Club Leagues

The National League of Duathlon Clubs, with three venues and seven days, will begin in La Nucía, Ciudad del Deporte, on March 12 and 13 with the triple day of the Duathlon Championships of Spain SuperSprint for Clubs, Relay for Couples and SuperSprint for 2 × 2 Clubs.

It will continue in Valladolid, where the national Duathlon championships for Clubs and Mixed Relays will be held on March 26 and 27; and it will close in Alcobendas, on April 9 and 10, with the dispute of the Spanish Duathlon Team Time Trial and Relay Championships.

The National League of Triathlon Clubs, also with seven days spread over three weekends, will begin in Roquetas de Mar on May 21 and 22 with the triple day in which the Spanish SuperSprint Triathlon Championships will be played by Clubs, Relays Couples and SuperSprint for Clubs 2 × 2.

The King's Cup and Queen's Cup of Triathlon, and the national Relay Triathlon, will take place in Águilas on June 4 and 5, and will be the fourth and fifth day.

The closing will take place in A Coruña, on June 18 and 19, with the Spanish Triathlon Championships for Clubs and Mixed Relay.

Spanish Cup and Triathlon Ranking MD and LD

The 100 × 100 Half Empuria Brava will be the main novelty in the Spanish Cup of Triathlon MD and LD, which will present one more year six scoring events including the two Spanish Long and Medium Distance Triathlon Championships, which in 2022 will also be the first tests to be disputed.

Also in the month of May, on the 22nd, the Empuria Brava test will take place, which will be the third appointment of the cup calendar. The La Rioja Half Triathlon, on June 18; Seville, on September 17; and Ibiza, on October 16, complete the appointments with points for the Cup.

All the events of the Spanish Cup of Triathlon MD and LD equally score for the National Ranking of MD and LD Triathlon which includes about thirty competitions during practically the entire year 2022.

Along with the IRONMAN Spain tests in Lanzarote, Mallorca, Marbella, Vitoria and Barcelona; o Challenge like Peguera Mallorca; There will be points of the national ranking in the Ocean Lava Tenerife, ICAN Alicante and ICAN Gandía, Infinitri Peñiscola, Half Triathlon of Salamanca, Madrid, Mequinenza, Banyoles, Ribadeo, Gijón and Sitges, Northwest Triman As Pontes, Great Triathlon Madrid, Desafío Castilla y León MD, or the Kiss the Planet Triathlon in Madrid.

International Competitions

The first international competition on the FETRI calendar for 2022 is the Melilla Triathlon European Cup, which will be held on April 3.

A Coruña will host the Paratriathlon World Cup on June 18, and Valencia the Triathlon World Cup on September 3. On Sunday, October 9, the Barcelona European Cup will take place.

Spain also hosts in 2022 the Bilbao-Bizkaia Multisport European Championship, which will take place between September 17 and 24. It will begin on September 17 and 18 with the European Duathlon Championship in Bilbao, to continue on September 20 with the European Duathlon Cros in Enkarterri.

On September 22, the European Cros Triathlon Championship will be held in Urdaibai, and on September 23 the European Aquathlon in Getxo-Portugalete. The closing of the European Multisport 2022 will be on September 24 with the European Triathlon MD and Aquabike Championship.

Duathlon and Triathlon Individual Rankings, and Club Ranking

In the FETRI 2022 season, qualifying events for the Duathlon Individual Ranking will be the qualifiers for the Spanish Duathlon Championship and the championship itself, as well as the Spanish Medium Distance and Standard Duathlon Championship, and the Viana Duathlon.

For the Individual Triathlon Ranking, the Spanish Sprint and Olympic Triathlon Championships and their qualifiers, the Spanish SuperSprint Triathlon Championship, the Aritzaleku Triathlon, the Great Madrid Triathlon, and the process of requests for inclusion of valid tests for the ranking will score. National is open throughout the year, with which more competitions will be added.

For the National Ranking of Clubs, all Spanish Championships, both individual and club, will score in 2022, with the exception of the national ones by Autonomies and School Age.
