Madrid will host on Sunday from the 11: 00 the second stop of the TriStar triathlon world circuit in Spain, after the successful TriStar Mallorca. TriStar Madrid returns to the Casa de Campo for the second year, this time with the inclusion of the 33.3 format as a novelty. The TriStar111 Madrid is a new concept of triathlon that takes place over a spectacular distance of 111 km (1 km of swimming, 100 km of cycling and 10 km of foot race), very fun for triathletes and that allows a quick recovery after the effort, unlike other formats.

Next Sunday 14 October the triathletes will enjoy a curious surprise. The actor, former governor of California and cult sportsman Arnold Schwarzenegger will kick off the TriStar Madrid. It will be the first time that the mythical and multi-faceted Austrian approaches a triathlon, and will coincide with the celebration this weekend of the Arnold Classic Europe, one of the largest multisport exhibitions and festivals in Europe, between the 12 and 14 days in October, at the Madrid Arena and the Casa de Campo Glass Pavilion. The triathlon joins in this way the great variety of sports around this international event, such as basketball, tennis, judo and many more. More info about the Arnold Classic Europe in www.arnoldclassiceurope.com. “TRIerminator” will be the godfather of the TriStar Madrid and will surely bring good luck to the more than 200 registered on Sunday.

The TriStar Madrid will have the presence of good Spanish triathletes as Álvaro Velázquez, who was runner-up in Spain long distance and third classified in 2011 or females Esther Leal, current champion, or Saleta Castro, one of the best long distance triathletes of the national scene. As regards registered foreign professionals, the Danish names stand out Morten Top Truelsen, or Swedish Andreas Linden (who was a professional cyclist before making the jump to triathlon).

From the 11: 45 will be the exit of the TriStar33.3 Madrid, in which the triathletes will have to complete a shorter and explosive distance: 300 meters of swimming, 30 km of cycling and 3 km of running on foot to the spectacular goal . More information in www.tristarmadrid.com
