The test that began at the 19: 30 Spanish time, has been disputed on Olympic distance- The first to complete the 1,5 km of swimming was the American Katie Zaferes, followed closely by Yuko Takahashi, Emma Jefcoat and the Spanish Carolina Routier 2 seconds.
Already on the bike a group was formed in the passage through the first round of 18 units with Flora Duffy, Katie Zaferes, Ashleigh Gentle, Andrea Hewitt, Rachel Klamer and Carolina Routier among others. In this group there were 9 triathletes who had made the podium this season in a WTS.
The 9-lap bike course, which passed through historic Montreal, featured several steep slopes and several highly technical turns.
The group was losing units to stay with 12 units thanks to the strong pace of the head, where Carolina was staying to pass through the third round of the segment with 1 minute of advantage over the pursuer group.
Finally the 11 group with all the favorites arrived at the T2 with Katie Zaferes at the head, followed by Flora Duffy with more than 2 minutes and a half ahead of the chasing group of Carolina Routier.
