Bermuda returns to the World Triathlon Series in 2022
World Triathlon has announced that Bermuda will once again host the triathlon world series this season.
The best triathletes in the world will be in the test that will be held on the days November 5 and 6.
The executive committee of World Triathlon approved Bermuda's proposal to once again host the maximum competition of the triathlon after the great success of the 2018 and 2019 editions.
Last year Bermuda had to cancel the Sprint and Relay Triathlon World Championships due to the impact of the pandemic last October.
Marisol Casado, President of the World Triathlon and IOC member, said: “We are delighted to return to Bermuda in 2022, and I'm sure the races will be even more special than any we've held there before, with current - and Bermuda's first-ever Olympic champion - Flora Duffy having the opportunity to run at home, encouraged by all the Bermudian people who have always been so connected and supported by triathlon.
Hosting a race of this level again on the island demonstrates the dedication and commitment of the National Federation, local government, organizers and all sponsors to the growth of the sport of triathlon, and I am sure all triathletes will appreciate it. will love to return to Bermuda next fall”.

The 2022 World Triathlon Series schedule will kick off in May in Yokohama, then move on to Leeds, Montreal, Hamburg and Chengdu before arriving in Bermuda in early November.
Abu Dhabi will host the 2022 Triathlon World Championship Final from November 24-26, where the 2022 World Champions will be crowned in the Elite, U23 and Para categories.

The World Triathlon Executive Council has also approved the addition of another new event to the 2022 season calendar, the Viña del Mar Triathlon World Cup, in Chile, on November 12 and 13.
The race will serve as a test for the 2023 Pan American Games in Chile.
