Bilbao Triathlon will have the support of the PTO and Javier Gómez Noya as headliner

The test will be the Spanish MD Triathlon Championship

El Bilbao Triathlon It will be held this next September 26 with a closed venue and without spectator access for everyone's safety.

The captain of the Triarmada, Javier Gómez Noya, completes a luxury poster for a test that will be supported by 15.000 euros in prizes from the PTO.

The PTO will contribute € 15.000

The sport does not stop and the capital of Biscay will celebrate on September 26 the Spanish Medium Distance Triathlon Championship, which will have the largest prize pool thanks to the PTO with a contribution of € 15.000, reaching € 20.000 in total

Security protocol

The test will follow the protocols established by the FETRI with extensive hygienic-sanitary measures so that the event is held under the premise of maximum security (you can check it here)

In this way, apart from the mandatory prior medical questionnaire, the temperature measurement, the mandatory use of masks and the safety distance before and after the pure competition, the venue will once again become a closed place and without the possibility of access to spectators and companions to preserve the health of athletes, accredited personnel and the fans themselves.

Again, from the FETRI, it is recommended that unnecessary trips be avoided, limiting them as far as possible to athletes and their possible technicians from their clubs.

Spectacular tour of Bilbao, including the passage through the renovated Ría

The swimming event will take place along the mythical Ría de Bilbao bordering the Evaristo Churruca pier to the Maritime Museum in a 1.9 kilometer route.

Then the triathletes will test their strength in the 90 kilometers of cycling that will include the climb from Larrabetzu to Morga with a total difference of 855 meters and that will be the advance to the race on foot to a circuit that will be given three laps of seven kilometers to complete a total of 21 before crossing the finish line located on the Itsas Museum esplanade.

Gómez Noya completes a luxury poster

This edition will feature countless stars from the triathlon, especially from the Middle Distance, among which are the 2019 winner Albert Moreno as well as Pello Osoro, Cesc Godoy and Ander Noain to name a few.

In this men's section, the presence of Javier Gómez Noya, five-time world champion, four-time European champion and a silver medalist at the Olympic Games stands out. London 2012.

The Elite female category also has great triathletes such as María Varo, Laura Gómez, Anneke Jenkins or two pure specialists such as Judith Corachán and the former champion Gurutze Frades.
