Gijón turns with the Spanish Triathlon Championship for Clubs

Between the 24 and 25 in September, the triathlon clubs will meet in Gijón for the Spanish Triathlon Championship for Clubs in the first and second division and in promotion.

 

All this within the framework of the fifth stage of the Spanish Grand Prix Cofidis Triathlon. A bet to incentivize triathlon from all sides.

After the success of the Duathlon World Championship held at 2011, Gijón will once again host a high-altitude competition at the end of September. An event that disembarks in the Asturian locality of the hand of the City council of Gijón in two days that will sail some of the referential points of one of the most representative cities of the Principality of Asturias.

The beach of Poniente will be the nerve center for some competitions that will be held on sprint distance, with the participants fighting to add the maximum points for their clubs in some circuits that will start with 750 m in waters of the Asturian coast, and then start a stretch of 20 km that along three laps will travel around the town, in the direction of the Calzada, to return bordering Marqués de San Esteban. Finally 5 km of running race will be deducted in the vicinity of Poniente beach.

In turn, tests of a popular nature will also be carried out, as well as the Women's Triathlon, promoted by the Women and Triathlon area of ​​the Sports Council. The popular Triathlon will have several distances (supersprint, sprint and relays), all designed to encourage and promote the triathlon in people of different ages and levels who seek to approach this exciting sporting discipline.
