Cassandre Beaugrand, 2024 triathlon world champion
French Cassandre Beaugrand has made history by becoming the world triathlon champion at the Grand Final held today in Torremolinos, Andalusia.
The triathlete won the race, securing victory with a strong running leg, thus clinching the Grand Final title. Triathlon World Series 2024.
With a final time of 01:56:44, Beaugrand demonstrated her superiority, maintaining a comfortable lead over the British Beth Potter, who finished in second place with a time of 01:57:22.
The podium was completed by the also French Emma lombi, who managed to cross the finish line in 01:57:34, confirming French dominance on this day.
Miriam Casillas, the best representative of Spain, achieved a creditable fifth place with a time of 01:58:02.
Casillas maintained a very solid performance, always close to the best and showing great form in this final part of the season. In addition, this fifth place has been the best result for a Spanish player in a major final.

The race began with a mistake by Beaugrand, with a failure in orientation that separated her from the rest of the leading group, making her lose time compared to her rivals.
However, despite the setback, the Frenchwoman managed to reduce the gap in the second lap, moving from 30th to 10th place and finishing just 15 seconds behind the leader, the Italian Bianca Seregni.
