Cassandre Beaugrand wins the WTS in Hamburg
The young French triathlete of 21 years, gives the surprise and gets her first victory in a World Series
After the exciting men's race where Mario Mola victory was won ahead of Vicent Luis and Richard Murray took place the women's race, also very exciting in all three segments.
The 750 meters of swimming were led by Jessica Learmonth who was first in T1 with a time of 9'25” followed by Summer Cook and giving time to a sextet that closed Flora Duffy Sara Pérez she was the best Spaniard, 9th, 5” behind Flora, doing a great swim… but she lost the leading group when leaving T1. for his part Anna Godoy He left the water in 29th gear 35" from the head of the race and Camila Alonso I did it back to almost a minute from Godoy.

The cyclist segment started with the six leading the race on trial, especially thanks to the work of Flora Duffy who in the first meters took the head. Behind a large group with Nicola Spirig the chase began. During the first kilometers the difference was around 30” of the leading sextet over the group of Spirig, Knibb, Zaferes, etc ... where I was also going Sara Pérez
Duffy she led the head of the race pulling practically alone, with some help from her teammates, while from behind Spirig mainly and Stimpson were cutting the advantage.
In the absence of 7 km for goal, Duffy she attacks and tries to go alone, but is hunted by her escape partners, which causes a small break and less than 4km for the T2 merge the two groups. Behind in a second group I was going Anna Godoy to 1 'approximately, and a little more behind Camila Alonso next to the Japanese Ueda 30” from the second group.
This is going to be an exciting run as the chase caught up to the leading 6 riders to form a massive pack into T2! Who has the legs to take gold? Tune in now! https://t.co/1kfqlhUSgA pic.twitter.com/D2ZfBcYHtS

Finally 25 triathletes are lowered together to the T2, with an imperial Nicola Spirig in first position getting off first of the bike and also leaving leader to run. Sara Pérez I had lost this group in the last kilometers and I was arriving at the T2 in the 28ª plaza almost 1 'from the head. Godoy for its part it was 38ª at 20” from Sara.
Meanwhile Camila Alonso It was doubled on the fourth lap and I could not continue in the race.
The 5 km of running on foot were going to decide the podium. From the first meters the French Cassandra Beaugrand is placed leader, after a "comfortable" bike, where despite always going in the head was not seen to give relief. He was pursued by the British Stimpson, the Americans Zaferes y Spivey y Flora Duffy
Finally comfortable victory with a great race on foot for Cassandra Beaugrand, behind to 800m goal, attacks the German Laura Linndeman And follows Zaferes leaving nailed to Spirig, Stimpson, Standford y Casper.
In the final sprint for second place Laura Lindemman takes second place, and third is Katie Zaferes You also have to stake the carrerón of Nicola Spring, the great protagonist of the day that was fourth in goal. For its part Anna Godoy the best Spanish finished 43rd at 3'37” and Sara Pérez the 45th at 3'50” from the winner. Both add points when entering within 8% of the cut off.
