Challenge Salou 2025: the long-awaited 10th anniversary

El Challenge Salou will be held this year May 11 where it will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a unique atmosphere on the Costa Daurada.

Exactly missing 100 days so that triathletes from across the national and international scene can come together in an event where speed, excitement and camaraderie are guaranteed.

This year the test has won the award for Best Bike Tour  obtained in the Challenge Family Awards 2024

An award-winning bicycle circuit

The award Best Tour in Bicycle It was not delivered by chance.

The experience of riding on a motorway completely closed to traffic, with a flat and wide profile, has allowed many participants to beat their best times from previous editions.

Cycling without cars around provides extra motivation and security to pedal at high speed.

Middle Distance: epicenter of the show

La Middle Distance It is one of the great attractions of Challenge Salou 2025. For those who opt for this modality, the route consists of:

  • 1.900m swim in two laps: it takes place in shallow waters, with a spectacular beach and views that reach the Delta de l'Ebre and the Serra de la Mussara.
  • 80 km of cycling in three laps: the race is on a motorway that is completely closed to traffic. It is an ideal route for travelling at a high average speed and making the most of every kilometre.
  • 21 km of foot race spread over four laps: it runs along the coast of the Costa Daurada, with a public dedicated to cheering on each triathlete.

Other modalities: Short and Middle Distance Relay

Short Distance

The Short Distance It is perfect as a test before making the jump to middle distance or for those looking for a somewhat shorter format. The route maintains the essence of the main event:

  • 1.900m swim (two turns)
  • 54 km of cycling (two turns)
  • 11 km of foot race (two turns)

Despite being a shorter course, it retains the character of an event recognised by the quality standards of Challenge Family. The aim is for participants to enjoy an ideal environment to progress in this sport.

Middle Distance Relay

For those who wish to share the experience with friends, family or club mates, there is the Middle Distance Relay.

Teams can be made up of two or three members, who freely divide up the segments.

A participant can cover two disciplines, regardless of the order, and there are no gender restrictions when forming groups. This format promotes team fun and provides the opportunity to experience the Challenge environment collectively.

Family Run: the festive touch

The competition weekend also reserves space for the Family Run, a popular and family event that will take place on Saturday 1 June, at 18:30 p.m., in the Plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas in Salou.

It is a race of 2 km Open to everyone. For children under 16, an escort is required.

Cash prizes

La PRO category It is the only one eligible for cash prizes.

The cast amounts to 19.000 € for the top six finishers (men and women) in the Middle Distance:

  1. €3.500 and 250 points
  2. €2.100 and 200 points
  3. €1.400 and 150 points

Ten years of passion for triathlon

This tenth anniversary is a milestone for this event. Since its first edition, Challenge Salou has sought to establish itself as one of the key events in the calendar National and international.

Triathletes from various countries participate year after year, attracted by the combination of Mediterranean climate, close organization and routes designed to obtain maximum performance.
