Chris McCormack will not defend the Kona title to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games

Chris McCormack will not defend his World Championship Ironman in 2011 and will instead attempt to qualify for the Olympics London 2012.

Macca made the announcement in an interview with the Daily Telegraph of Australia (which can be read here ), saying: “It is the only thing in my career I regret, not doing the Olympic Games. This is my last chance."

"I don't know if I'm fast enough to win, but I would love to be there to help an Australian win a medal."
