Chris Nikic finishes his first marathon in Boston

This past Monday the 125th edition of the Boston Marathon after almost two and a half years of rest due to COVID-19.

It normally takes place in the spring, the last face-to-face race was in April 2019, but this year it was held in October.

Thousands of runners flooded Massachusetts, however in this edition there were fewer participants reaching the 20.000 registered.

However, this year it also had a virtual test, so while up to 20.000 runners were able to participate in person this year, there were close to 70.000 virtual participants.

One of the participants was the triathlete Chris nikic (Maitland, Florida), who is the first athlete with down syndrome to complete an IRONMAN degree in Florida.

He ran his first marathon finishing the test with a time of 6 hours, 1 minute and 22 seconds.

After his feat at IRONMAN Florida, Chris was invited by IRONMAN to participate in the IRONMAN World Championship 2021
