Chrissie Wellington confirms that she leaves the triathlon
There had been rumors for some time that she was thinking of quitting, but today the 4-time World Champion Ironman Chrissie Wellington has confirmed her retirement from Ironman
As you can read in his blog comments:
If I continue I will be the ambassador of my sponsors, they have supported me a lot throughout my career.
In the last 12 months I have had time to reflect and think, about my past and, of course, also about my future.
Being a professional ironman distance athlete has been one of the main experiences of my life. I have accomplished more than I could have imagined, and I have been so fortunate that I have traveled to some places of great beauty, competed against the best in the world, and made many friendships that will last for a long time.
People change, life is full of memories and experiences but the ironman will always go with me, forever
In the past year, since I won the Ironman World Championship, I have enjoyed being able to dedicate myself to other aspects of my life, including charities, the art of public speaking and of course publishing and promoting my autobiography, "a life without limits "
I will keep everyone updated on my future plans through my website -WWW.CHRISSIEWELLINGTON.ORG and twitter - @chrissiesmiles
From Triathlon News we wish you the best in your new stage
