Five medals for the Spanish paratriathlon at the Lisbon European

Formidable performance of the Spanish paratriathletes this afternoon in Lisbon.

 

The Portuguese capital has seen a spectacular display of our athletes, who have won a total of five medals, becoming protagonists of this first day of competitions in the European Championship 2016.

The city of seven hills rose to a brilliant Alejandro Sánchez Palomero with the continental title of PT3. The Russian representative Denis Kungurtcev and the Austrian Oliver Dreier. While a splendid Jairo Ruiz conquered the runner-up n PT4, a podium led by the Teutonic Martin Schulz and the French Yannick Bourseaux completed the podium in third position.

For its part a sensational duo formed by Héctor Catalá next to your guide Luis Javier Castellano they were proclaimed champions in the male PT5 category. A podium in which they have been accompanied by the Ukrainian Vasyl Zakrevskyi and the Gaul Arnaud Grandjean; silver and bronze respectively. A competition in which the couple composed by Daniel Llambrich and Jonathan Galán also performed a notable role in the fourth place, staying at the gates of the bronze medal.

While a magnificent Eva Moralfirmaba the runner-up in PT1. A category in which the British Lizzie Tench managed to impose and in which the Irish Fiona Mccormack achieved the bronze medal.

In female PT5, the new tandem integrated by Susana Rodríguez y Mabel Gallardo reached the bronze medal. A test dominated by the British paratriathletes, with Alison Patrcik achieving the gold medal and Melissa Reid the silver.

In male PT1 José Vicente Arzo it was classified in sixth place, while Lionel Morales obtained the fourth place in PT2 and Raquel Mateo obtained the fifth position in females and Toni Franco crossed the finish line 14º in PT4. On the other hand Daniel Molina in PT3
