Classification Spanish Olympic Triathlon Ranking for Tokyo 2020
Spain has 3 places for the male test and 2 for the female
The 2019 season of the ITU tests that offer points for the Tokyo Olympic Olympic Ranking has already ended.
There are several points to know to know how the Olympic Ranking system works:
- The qualification period goes from the 11 of May of 2018 to the 11 of May of 2020.
- The 12 scores the best results of each triathlete (maximum 7 results in each period)
- The tests that score are the Grand Final, the Test Event, WTS, World Cups, Continental Championships

FETRI criteria
For the classification of the Spanish, the FETRI It is the one that sets the classification criteria
Male category
1º Criteria: Best athlete in the GRAND FINAL LAUSANNE 2019 as long as TOP3. Ó Best athlete in the ITU RANKING OF OLYMPIC CLASSIFICATION to 31 of December of 2019 whenever it is TOP8.
2º Criteria: Best athlete in the ITU RANKING OF OLYMPIC CLASSIFICATION to 31 of December of 2019 whenever it is TOP 15
3º Criteria: At the discretion of the Technical Directorate of the Spanish Triathlon Federation.
The composition of the mixed relay test of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics may condition the allocation of third place, or more.
Female category
1º Criteria: Best athlete in the ITU OLYMPIC TEST EVENT 2019 as long as TOP10.
Ó Best athlete in the ITU RANKING OF OLYMPIC CLASSIFICATION to 31 of December of 2019 whenever it is TOP15.
2º Criteria: Best athlete in the ITU RANKING OF OLYMPIC CLASSIFICATION to 31 of December of 2019 whenever it is TOP 30
3º Criteria: At the discretion of the Technical Directorate of the Spanish Triathlon Federation.
The composition of the mixed relay test of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics may condition the allocation of third place, or more.

Spain has 3 male seats and female 2
Spain currently has 3 places in the men's race and 2 in the women's race and participation in the Mixed Relay.
As for the triathletes who may be in Tokyo, for now Mario Mola, is the only one who has insured place in for Tokyo though Fernando Alarza in fourth position and Javier Gómez Noya in the 17th they have all the options to be in the test. Antonio Serrat is 23º.
In the female category Miriam Casillas it's 26ª, Anna Godoy 40ª and Sara Perez 64ª room.
