Cogne will host the 2025 Winter Triathlon World Championships

The picturesque Alpine resort of Cogne in Italy is preparing to welcome the world's best winter triathletes to the Winter Triathlon World Championship in February 2025. This return to Cogne, which hosted the event in 2014, promises to be a spectacular event.

After last year's success in Pragelato, Italy is once again the epicentre of winter triathlon. Cogne, located in the Aosta Valley in northern Italy, is set to exceed expectations and offer an unrivalled setting for this world-class competition.

A Calendar Full of Winter Excitement

The championship will start on Friday 21 of February of 2025 with the Winter Duathlon World Championships. Elite, U23 and Junior athletes will compete in a challenging format consisting of two laps of running and cross-country skiing.

In addition, the Winter Duathlon Age Group and Para-Triathlon Championships will be held on Saturday, followed by the Winter Triathlon World Championships for the Elite, Under-23 and Junior categories.

The elite winter triathlon event will include the usual race of 8 km on snow, 12 km of mountain biking on snow and 12 km of cross-country skiing, but with five transitions and two laps in each segment. Age Group and Para-Triathlon athletes will compete over a medium distance with two transitions.

Finally, the event will culminate on Sunday with the standard distance Winter Triathlon Age Group World Championships, the Winter Para-Triathlon Championships and the exciting 2×2 Winter Triathlon Mixed Relay for Elites and U23/Juniors.
