The 4th edition of the Club La Santa XNUMX STAGE MTB RACE LANZAROTE begins

The seventeenth edition of the 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote starts this Saturday from the hand of Club La Santa,

Is the the only event on the world calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI) held in the Canary Islands, and will start with a strict sanitary protocol that has been approved by the competent authorities and by the organizers.

La 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote 2021 It was presented at an event held this afternoon in the Club La Santa press room, which was attended by some of the most recognized participants.

Four bikers have been present at it, accompanied by Fabio Cabrera, race director and head of sports at Club La Santa: soren nissen, winner of the 4 Stage in the 2015 edition.

Rachel Lisbona, Spanish representative who participated for the first time in 2017 in a 4 Stage MTB Race Lanzarote; Naima Diesner, a German cyclist who reached the podium in 2018; Y Samuel Rodriguez, Canarian representative with previous experience in the 4 Stage.

soren nissen has been "delighted to be here" and wanted to congratulate the organization for having made it possible. In addition, the winner of the 2015 edition, has indicated that "I have come six or seven times and I am happy to be back."

For its part, Naima Diesner has indicated that she is "very happy to be on the island and very excited to return to competition after a period of hiatus". The German cyclist also stressed that "every time I have come I have fallen more in love with the island and its people."

Rachel Lisbona He recalled that “it was the first UCI race in which I participated. I have a great memory and I have always wanted to return ”.

"I am privileged to be able to compete in the best race in the Canary Islands together with professional athletes", he acknowledged Samuel Rodriguez, which has also advised the participants "to enjoy it." .

For its part, Fabio Cabrera has expressed its satisfaction with the holding of the test: “This race will be different from other editions.

We are very excited, the great effort, work and dedication of the entire Club La Santa team has been incredible to be able to reach this moment.

It is the first of the 2021 tests that will bring us again a very complete calendar at Club La Santa”, Added Cabrera.

THE 4 STAGE MTB LANZAROTE RACE 2021

The layout of this long-awaited 2021 edition is tough and will demand the best of the participants in various profiles and race circumstances.

To start, a 42,1 km first stage through sandy areas, lava fields and dirt tracks in the north of Lanzarote.

Subsequently, a second stage de 60 km will test the endurance of all participants. The third stage will include a time trial that will leave from Caleta de Famara and go up to Las Nieves (more than 20 km away) with 500 meters of positive elevation gain.

The fourth and last stage will be the hardest of all, with a distance to travel of 81,6 km, and includes "The Time Trial Dam".

With 90% of the route off road, the race is registered in category S1 of the UCI competition calendar. A total of 258 cyclists have registered, of which 200 are Spanish and the rest, just under 60, from other countries, highlighting the ten French riders who will start tomorrow.

The fourth and last stage will be the hardest of all, with a distance to travel of 81,6 km, and includes "The Time Trial Dam".
