In the test they reappeared Fernando Alarza and Vicente Hernández, after his injuries with Uxío Abuín who was participating in a WTS again.

In the fast six-lap cycling segment, a group of 12 units was formed, where they were Kristian Blummenfelt, Jonathan Brownlee or Vicent Luis, in this there was no Spanish. Since they were behind 8 seconds.
The leading group was broken by an attack by Briton Jonathan Brownlee, to which Blummenfelt and Luis responded, from behind the uniformed pursuit group with the rest of the favorites and passed through the second round with 12 seconds of disadvantage in passing through the half of the circuit.

Little by little the trio was increasing the advantage to get to the T2 with 18 seconds ahead of the chasing group with the rest of the favorites.
In the 5 km race on foot, we experienced an exciting sector, seeing how they tried to maintain the advantage from the front and Mario Mola from behind trying to cut the distance from the head of the race.
From the first moment Jonathan Brownlee began to pull the group leaving together with Vicent Luis, leaving Blummenfelt behind who seemed injured. Behind Richard Murray followed by Mario Mola also left in search of the leading group.
In the passage through the first lap, Brownlee and Blummenfelt were still in the lead but Murray was cutting the distance passing just 4 seconds, Mola fourth passed 6 seconds.
With less than 2 kilometers for the finish, Mario Mola took the lead by pulling the group, leaving with Brownlee trying to leave the rest out of the fight for victory.
Finally Mario Mola , with a devastating attack in the absence of 1 km, he left alone to get the final victory in a time of 53: 24. The second one was Vicent Luis (53: 29) followed by Richard Murray (53: 32) occupying the third final position. Fernando Alarza finished in the 15ª position, Vicente Hernández was 38º and UXío Abuín the 42º
