Confirmed the Kipchoge-Bekele duel in a London marathon without popular
The test will change its route this year
El Virgin Money London Marathon, announced yesterday that this 2020 will completely change its format to be able to celebrate this year.
The test, to be held on October 4, will only be held with professionals, not holding the popular test where 40.000 runners usually compete on the streets of the English capital.
This is something that was "intuited" but has now become official, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that is happening all over the world.
The format changes for this year
The test will change its route this year, going to have several laps to a shorter circuit than the usual race at St James's Park.
In addition, the times achieved in the competition will be valid for the cLasification of the Tokyo 2021 Games.

Bekele and Kipchoge duel
In the London Marathon you will be able to see one of the most anticipated duels by fans, that of Kenenisa Bekele y Eliud Kipchoge.
Kipchoge is a four-time winner in the test and current marathon world record with 2:01:39 he will face Bekele, who in 2019 was only 2 seconds behind this mark, ranking as the second best time in the world
