Kitzbühel Sprint Triathlon European Championship confirmed with new format

There will be a semifinal and final

The European Triathlon Union has confirmed that the European Sprint Triathlon Championship will be held in the city of Kitzbühel (Austria)

The dates chosen for the disputes of the competitions to be held will be between June 18 and 20.

Kitzbühel will host a championship again after 4 years, since in 2017 it also hosted, although in 2019 it hosted one in the Junior category.

En 2017 Vicente Hernández was fourth, Uxio Abuín fifth and Fernando Alarza sixth.

New format

The format of the test consists of Elite and U23 races, with a separate podium for each category and in semi-final and final format.

There will be a total of 90 places available for this event, of which 40 are reserved for under-23 athletes.

The mixed relays will also be played

In addition, the Mixed Relay Championships will also be held in Kitzbühel.

Junior athletes will also have an individual race in semi-final and final format, also with 90 places, as well as the mixed relay.

The distances for the individual race (elite, sub-23 and junior, both for semifinals and final) are 500 m of swimming, 12 km of cycling and 3,3 km of running.
