FETRI criteria Age groups for European Championships to be held in Spain

The Spanish Triathlon Federation will host the next European Triathlon Championships in Valencia (September 25 and 26) and the 2022 European Multisport Triathlon Championship in Bilbao - Bizkaia and has already made public the classification criteria for our athletes in both events.

 European Triathlon Championship 2021

For athletes of Age groups, who intend to participate in the next European Triathlon Championship to be held in Valencia on September 25 and 26 in 2021, the following criteria for assigning places are established, within the 25 that Spain has assigned by age group, distance, and sex:

European Sprint Distance Triathlon Championship

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 16-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish Triathlon Championship, Pontevedra 2020.
2. Rest of places according to individual Triathlon ranking after the celebration of the Banyoles 2021 Spanish Triathlon Championship.
3. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

European Olympic distance Triathlon Championship

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 18-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish Triathlon Championship, Banyoles 2021.
2. Rest of places according to individual Triathlon ranking after the celebration of the Banyoles 2021 Spanish Triathlon Championship.
3. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

Registrations will open on April 5, 2021 at 12:00 hours

Bilbao-Bizkaia 2022 multisport triathlon European Championship

For the athletes of Age Groups, who intend to participate in the next European Multisport Triathlon Championship to be held in Bilbao-Bizkaia in 2022, the following criteria for assigning places are established, within the 25 that Spain has assigned by age group, modality, and sex:

European Sprint Distance Duathlon Championship (Drafting allowed)

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 16-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish Duathlon Championship, Avilés 2021.
2. Rest of places until completing 25, by age group in the Duathlon Spain Championship 2022, and provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship.
3. Rest of places according to individual Duathlon ranking after the celebration of the Spanish Duathlon Championship 2022, provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship. Failing that, the reference ranking will be the one in force 60 days before the European Championship.
4. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

Duathlon European Championship Standard distance (Drafting NOT allowed)

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 18-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish Duathlon Championship, Soria 2021.
2. Rest of places until completing 25, by age group in the Duathlon Spain Championship 2022, and provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship.
3. Rest of places according to individual Duathlon ranking after the celebration of the Spanish Duathlon Championship 2022, provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship. Failing that, the reference ranking will be the one in force 60 days before the European Championship.
4. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

European Championship Duathlon Cros

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 18-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish Duathlon Cros Championship, El Anillo 2021.
2. Rest of places until completing 25, by age group in the Duathlon Cros 2022 Spanish Championship, and provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship.
3. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

European Championship of Triathlon Cros

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 18-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish Cros Triathlon Championship, El Anillo 2021.
2. Rest of places up to 25, by age group in the 2022 Cros Triathlon Spanish Championship, and provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship.
3. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

Aquathlon European Championship

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 18-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish Aquathlon Championship, El Anillo 2021.
2. Rest of places until completing 25, by age group in the Aquathlon Spain Championship 2022, and provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship.
3. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

European Championship of "Aquabike"

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 18-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish “Aquabike” Championship, Bilbao 2021.
2. Rest of places up to 25, by age group in the 2022 “Aquabike” Spanish Championship, and provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship.
3. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

European Middle Distance Triathlon Championship

This Championship is open to the following Age Groups:

• 18-19 Male and Female
• 20-24 Male and Female
• 25-29 Male and Female
• Etc

Criteria:

1. Up to 25 places per age group in the Spanish Medium Distance Triathlon Championship, Bilbao 2021.
2. Rest of places until completing 25, by age group in the 2022 Spanish Medium Distance Triathlon Championship, and provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship.
3. Rest of places according to individual ranking of Medium and Long Distance Triathlon after the celebration of the Spanish Medium Distance Triathlon Championship 2022, provided that it is held at least 60 days before the European Championship. Failing that, the reference ranking will be the one in force 60 days before the European Championship.
4. In the event that there are free places, it will be in order of registration.

Registration for all Championships will open on September 20, 2021 at 12:00 hours.
