City of Lugo Fluvial female and devils of male Rivas have achieved yesterday in Pontevedra the Championship of Spain Triathlon Clubs

The Sunday was a very intense day, with four tests from the first hour, the two second division plus the main dish corresponding to the First Division men and women.

At Lóleo Eventos, female category the current champion of Spain, the Ferrol Triathlon, arrived with significant casualties willing to fight for everything without complexes, although he only had eight athletes, compared to the ten that most of the clubs with options had. And so, Inés Santiago went all out and was the fastest in the water. He arrived at the transition with a considerable advantage over Anneke Jenkins from the City of Lugo Fluvial and Carmen Gómez (Triathlon Ferrol). But on the bike, the New Zealander of the City took the lead and set a high pace that only Ines could follow, who finally came as Anneke marched alone towards T-2. In the race on foot, Cecilia Santamaría, after a partial in the water out of head, managed to recover gradually on foot to reach the Anneke and overcome it. Although in the last meters he waited his club mate and entered the goal of the hand. The third position went to Inés Santiago.

In goal, I had to wait for the arrival of all the teammates to see which club was proclaimed champion of Spain and finally it was the City of Lugo Fluvial (1.193 points) the one that replaced the Ferrol Triathlon in the Spanish scepter. Second was the Imps from Rivas (1.166) and the bronze went to the Bétera (847), while the former champion of Spain Ferrol Triathlon He finished fourth (831).

La First Men's Division It was the last of the tests to be held, and also with the City of Lugo Fluvial, which defended the title of last year, as the protagonist. It was a very tough test and with a hellish rhythm on the bike. The Pontevedra Pablo Dapena, who competed before his public, was always in outstanding positions and taking the head of the race to half of the cycling sector. And he did not get out of that position of privilege at any time. Thus, Dapena occupied the first position ahead of Antonio Benito (also from the City) who also waited in the final meters. The third position was for Genis Grau (Prat Triatlo 1994).

Once again the moment of uncertainty came, until the judges certified the results and the champion of Spain was announced. The City had classified several athletes in the first places (Dapena, Benito, Cendán and Ricardo Hernández), but in this championship they all score and in the end that was decisive to grant the title to the Imps from Rivas of Madrid with 1.236 points, while the City of Lugo Fluvial it was second (1.149). The third position was occupied by Arcade Inforhouse, who also did a very regular test to get the bronze medal (1.099).

At Lóleo Eventos, Second female Division, the triumph was for the Tripuçol, while in the second position came the Montilla-Córdoba Triathlon and third was the Club Europa Triathlon. And in the male category, the Triathlon Claverías Móstoles, the Tritrain4you 02-Cabberty climbed to the second step of the podium, while third was the Club IMD Triathlon Segovia.
