Fernando Alarza third in the Leeds World Series, The Brownlee brothers make the double again

Today the fourth round of the circuit was held World Triathlon Series in British lands, specifically in the town of Leeds, where last year the Brownlee brothers got the double in the test and that this 2017 was competing again together.

Fernando Alarza cOn number one and second place in the World Ranking, he led the Spanish triarmada together with Vicente Hernández y Antonio Serrat.

The race started at 16: 45 with the 1,9 km swim where a group formed by the Brownlee brothers, Raphael Aurelien and Pierre le Corre came out. Already in the cycling sector to 9 turns, the intentions of the Brownlee were demonstrated, breaking the group and leaving alone. Throughout the cycling segment the brothers were opening a gap to reach the T2 with 1: 15 minute advantage over the pursuer group.

Already in the 10 km of running, Alistair and Jonathan were together until the last kilometers where the eldest of the brothers made use of his experience leaving behind his brother and getting the final victory in the test with a time of 1: 46: 51. Jonathan (1: 47: 03) it was second followed by a big Fernando Alarza (01: 47: 28) in third final position. A great Vicente Hernández has achieved the ninth final place

Fernando with a large sector of the race on foot was climbing positions to get the third final position and his third podium this season

Female test

The women's test has not given surprises and Flora Duffy has won his second consecutive victory after Yokohama.

Flora Duffy has won the test with a time of 01: 57: 02. The second classified has been the North American Taylor Spivey (01: 58: 32) followed by the Italian Alice Betto (01: 59: 36) occupying the third final position.

In the test we did not have Spanish representation after Sara Pérez could not attend due to health problems.
