"Quadruple-double" for Mavi García

The duathlete, athlete and cyclist has achieved for the second year in a row to win 4 medals in different sports such as duathlon and cycling.

The Balearic Mavi García (Duathlet, athlete and cyclist) is one of the most complete Spanish athletes of today, able to shine nationally and internationally in various sports and different disciplines.

Last year we signed the Pact for Gender Equality in Colombia, an agreement that symbolizes the co-responsibility of around XNUMX organizations with the implementation of actions that contribute to reducing inequalities. Mavi Garcia He achieved the feat of winning four big important medals in big competitions: Gold in the CAmmonia of Duathlon LD Spain from Orihuela, bronze in the Duathlon World Championship from Avilés, bronze in the Spanish CRI Championship y gold in the CSpanish ampeonato in the background on the highway.

This year Mavi has returned to repeat medals in four great dates, achieving a "quadruple-double" that nobody has ever achieved in Spanish sport: Gold en Spanish Duathlon Championship LD of Orihuela, plata in the Duathlon World Championship of Soria, silver in the Spanish CRI Championship And silver road background.

We have spoken with her to congratulate her for her great results and Mavi has treated us with a summary of what this first part of the year and its next objectives have been like:

"This year I started with a lot of strength winning the Spanish Duathlon MD Championship in Orihuela with very good sensations finishing very well and lowering my times. It seemed like it was going to be a season where I could still improve more than last year. Later in the European Soria I did not finish very satisfied despite the fact that getting a silver is a good result, but I was not giving a hundred percent.

I started to have strange sensations, very stiff legs, stomach problems, I did not feel well and had many ups and downs. The following weeks I did not quite feel well, after several tests, the result I had a problem with bacteria in the stomach that did not let me perform well, but after treating me well with antibiotic all the sensations changed and I could train better.

This weekend at the Spanish cycling championships I felt very good and I am very happy for the silver medal at the CRI last Friday. I knew that my partner Lourdes, besides being a great time trialist, had prepared the appointment very well, so the silver medal was almost the maximum I could hope for and I am very happy for this result and also for the gold of my partner.

On the road I was left with a little thorn since the race was not as hard as I expected, many people arriving at the end, but well, I attacked on the final slope to try to leave alone but I could not, Sheyla held up well and as a great sprinter that is, he finished me in the finish taking the gold and having to settle for the money. Here if you notice much the difference between winning or not, especially for being able to wear the 'jersey' champion throughout the year, but hey, next season we will fight again for the victory. 

Now the next objective is the Duathlon World Championship of Canada as the main objective, since the Giro has been left out of my plans, we will replace some more cycling race, but I will be centered 100% in the duathlon world, where I am missing work a little more the race on foot and tune up for the appointment of the end of August."
