Comparisons with Mario Mola that set the bar high
Many are already talking about a “effect Mario Mola”, recalling the records that the three-time world champion achieved in Abu Dhabi in 2015 (14:03) and 2019 (14:00).
Although it is true that the current route includes 200 additional meters, Cantero's time is close to those historic marks.
The fact that “Super Mario” won the race in those editions makes the achievement even more significant. We will have to keep a close eye on Cantero’s progress to see if this feat becomes the norm in future races.
