David Castro and Sara Bonilla, Champions of Spain of Acuatlón in Banyoles

The Spanish Acuatlón Elite Championship, which put an end to a historic weekend for the Spanish triathlon with more than 2.700 athletes competing in Banyoles between Saturday and Sunday.

The second day of competitions organized by the Spanish Triathlon Federation in Banyoles hosted the Aquathlon Spanish Championship in all its categories, including paratriathlon, and European Triathlon Championships by clubs, in the mixed relay format and in both elite and junior categories. The reigning event was the Spanish Acuatlón Elite Championship, which put an end to a historic weekend for the Spanish triathlon with more than 2.700 athletes competing in Banyoles between Saturday and Sunday.

David Castro (Team of Triathlon Rodense) managed to remove the thorn of the accident suffered the previous day and won with solvency on the distance of 1 kilometer swimming and 5 finals of running race. The level of the participating clubs was very high, with French Poissy and Sport Lisboa e Benfica Portuguese made up of triathletes of the first international level. In fact the victory was between the two foreign clubs and the Cidade de Lugo Fluvial. Finally the Portuguese were gold, the French silver and the Galician club climbed to the third box of the podium.
