David McNamee retires from triathlon after Dubai T100
The British triathlete David McNamee, born in 1988 and resident in Girona, has officially announced that he will retire from professional triathlon after competing in the Dubai T100 next week.
After 20 years dedicated to this sport, McNamee says the time has come to end his career.Physically and mentally I know this is the time for me", the triathlete said in an emotional message on his social networks.

McNamee began in the world of triathlon at the age of 18, debuting in the Sailford Junior European Cup, United Kingdom, and it was in 2011 when he obtained his first major international result by becoming runner-up in the U-23 World Championship in Budapest.
Over the years, he competed in the World Series with the British team and managed to achieve a ninth place in Yokohama in 2013.
In 2015, McNamee decided to go for the long distance. In his debut at the HOMBRE DE HIERRO UK, achieved victory, and that same year he debuted in the mythical Kona achieving a creditable 11th place. 2017 y 2018, finished third in Kona, becoming the first Briton to reach the podium in that event.
