An LD triathlon in 3 days, the Long Course Weekend in Mallorca

The Long Course Weekend is a sports festival that lasts three days, where athletes have to swim 3,8 km on Friday, ride a bike on Saturday 180 km and run on Sunday 42 km.

 

It is already official that Alcúdia, in Mallorca, will house a Long Course Weekend the 3, 4 and 5 days of November, after the announcement that this sporting event that was born in Wales six years ago and that will also be held at 2017 in Jervis Bay, Australia.

The Long Course Weekend is a sports festival that lasts three days, where athletes have to swim on friday ride in bicycle on saturday y run on sunday. There are a multitude of distances, options and combinations to participate in each day, and a special recognition in the form of a fourth medal for those athletes capable of taking part daily in the long distance segment. (3.800 m of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.195 m running).

Matthew Evans, member of the management of Long Course Weekend: "We are very pleased to have been able to get to Mallorca and add Alcúdia to the Long Course Weekend destination map. Taking part in this test is a great experience, and allows a wide range of athletes to participate throughout a weekend. We are already working hand in hand with the local organizing team to guarantee a unique experience and sensations in Mallorca".

The local organizer in Mallorca is the sports event management company Kumulus, which has been organizing competitions of international level for many years, such as the Palma Marathon. David Thompson, representative of Kumulus states that "It is great news for Mallorca that in November we can organize an event as ambitious and attractive as this one. Part of a very inclusive, broad concept, and Alcúdia It is a true paradise for these three sports, so it will be the ideal scenario.
