Diego Velázquez, Paratriathlete with Multiple Sclerosis and LD World Champion, confirms his presence in ECOTRIMAD

Diego is a clear example of overcoming, with a disability of an 66% that has paralyzed several muscles of his body, the Burgos triathlete has shown repeatedly that for him there are no barriers, and mental strength often goes beyond physical barriers.

 

 

Diego Velazquez, World Champion TRI3 Long Distance with Multiple Sclerosis, has confirmed its presence in ECOTRIMAD "The bet is clear, for me this appointment transmits the Triathlon in pure state, an incredible reservoir, a cycling circuit to enjoy to the fullest and an unbeatable foot race, crossing part of its streets of the beautiful town of Buitrago and all this added to the excellent organization of the event makes, that there is not a doubt . Last year I competed and I loved, this yearI could not miss it! "

 

With an eye on the DECAIRONMAN the next month of October, which will be his great challenge in this 2013, a test consisting of completing 10 Ironman followed and that, Antonio de la Rosa, Organizer of ECOTRIMAD managed to be the first Spaniard to overcome this challenge, Diego Velásquez at the beginning of his season and as part of his preparation for the Italian event he has shown his clear commitment to ECOTRIMAD:

 

“In 2013 I competed in this event and I enjoyed a lot, this year I couldn't miss it. I have been training and competing in triathlon for many years, there are tests, that if I am in good condition and my health allows it, they cannot be missing from my calendar and ECOTRIMAD is clearly one of them, not only for its circuits, which is certainly a differential point, but also the unbeatable treatment by the entire team that organizes it: Ramiro, Joaquín, Paloma and Antonio who make me feel at home. In Buitrago you always feel the warmth of the public and it is a really beautiful place to enjoy a competition of these characteristics "

 

Last weekend Diego Velázquez, current champion of Spain of Duathlon and Triathlon in TRI3, was also proclaimed Champion of the Triathlon World Series  title that adds, among others, to the Long Distance World Champion obtained last 2012 in Vitoria.

 

The triathlete managed to mark a few bicycles close to the 45km / h very close to the times of the international elite, which shows that, after 16 years with Multiple Sclerosis and an 66% disability, the power of the mind helps to beat our challenges day by day and overcome our barriers, even physical ones. Diego is clearly an example as an athlete and an authentic image of the values ​​that our sport transmits: effort, sacrifice and capacity for improvement.
