Duathlon Valencia by MTRI exceeds all expectations
He has broken records of registered participants in this edition

El Valencia Duathlon by MTRI is back stronger than ever and is already warming up for this weekend in the heart of the city.
With the delivery of numbers in Decathlon Campanar, a second edition begins, marked by the enthusiasm of the duathletes and double the number of registrations compared to last year.
In total, 980 participants confirmed, compared to the 353 who debuted in the last edition of the Mediterranean Triathlon.
A second edition that multiplies participants
This time, the Valencia Duathlon by MTRI has 551 Subscribers In the adult category, they will face the test at the pace of running and cycling in one of the most vibrant circuits on the national scene.
But the highlight is the new family mode: 426 couples formed by an adult and a boy or girl, ready to enjoy together a non-competitive experience that promotes school sport.
According to Federation of Triatló of the Valencian Community, the number of school licenses continues to rise in the region, with 2.364 licenses recorded to date, breaking an all-time record that will undoubtedly continue to rise when spring arrives with the triathlon events.
Urban circuit: the Alameda dresses up for duathlon
The competition ground will be located between the Puente de la Exposición and the Puente de las Flores, occupying the entire Paseo de la Alameda with a transition box divided into three parts.
In the first segment, participants will start from the Puente de las Flores, descend to the Turia riverbed and return to the promenade to run across the Puente de la Exposición in both directions until completing 1,5 km of race and entering T1.
After the transition to the cycling segment, T2 will arrive to give way to the final stretch towards the finish line, which will be located again at the Puente de las Flores.
The Alameda asphalt will become a real urban velodrome, 1 km out and 1 km back, where 3 laps must be completed to add up to the total 6 km of the race.
New family duathlon: children and adults in action
At 12:15 pm the highlight for families will take place: the family duathlon. This modality will group participants according to the year of birth of the youngest children, with different adapted distances:
- Exit 1 (years 2012-2013-2014): 400m | 1000m | 150m
- Exit 2 (years 2015-2016-2017): 300m | 700m | 150m
- Exit 3 (years 2018-2019-2020): 200m | 500m | 150m
The couple format has a clear objective: to promote school sport in a fun environment, sharing the experience of the event in a fun way and without a stopwatch.
Schedules, road closures and traffic changes
The first start on Saturday will be at 9:00 a.m. with the double supersprint, followed at 11:00 a.m. by the individual supersprint and the pairs event (more than 100 pairs).
Street closures are planned from 15:00 p.m. on Friday in the Paseo de la Alameda area to set up the infrastructure.

Post-finish line: medals, refreshments and more surprises
Upon crossing the finish line, each duathlete will receive their finisher medal and will be able to replenish their energy with the post-competition refreshments.
Furthermore, CIM Training Valencia offers a recovery service for those who need extra care.
In this edition, the club with the highest participation, CDT T3 resistance, has won the prize of a ham, followed by Together is Better y CEA Bétera in second and third position, respectively.
The event is sponsored by the Generalitat Valenciana, Ajuntament de València and FDM València and is organised by the Federació de Triatló de la Comunitat Valenciana. 42K is once again the technical partner of the entire Mediterranean Triathlon circuit. Decathlon Campanar will also be participating in this event to hand out race numbers and CIM Formación will be in charge of the post-finish recovery area.
