El Duathlon Villa of Madrid will be held this 2025 Sunday April 13, offering a truly attractive tour in the heart of the capital.
The main area will be located in the Colon Square, a strategic point for the start, finish and awards ceremony. This location, next to the Paseo de la Castellana, guarantees a very special atmosphere, with the public cheering on from the street and an urban environment that is difficult to match.
In addition, the organization has prepared all the services in the upper part of the Plaza de Colón, concentrating the race secretariat, cloakroom and podium area.
Two distances
This year, the Villa de Madrid Duathlon offers two distances to accommodate different levels of preparation:
- Sprint distance (5 km on foot – 20,8 km on bike – 2,5 km on foot)
Suitable for athletes from the YOUTH category onwards. It can be competed individually or in relays. - Duathlon distance (10 km walk – 41,4 km bike – 5 km walk)
Designed only for federated triathletes with JUNIOR category and above. In addition, it is the Championship of Madrid in this modality.
The cycling route runs along Castellana and is open to Bike mountain or road in the Sprint test, as long as the drafting regulations are complied with (the use of “goat” type bikes is prohibited).
However, in the modality of 10-40-5 (Madrid Championship), only road bikes are accepted.
Categories, relays and bicycle restrictions
The possibility of participating in relays in the Sprint distance is very interesting for those who prefer to share efforts.
Two people can form a team: one will be in charge of the two running races and the other of the cycling section. There are male, female and mixed categories, so anyone can participate collaboratively.
In the longer modality (10 km – 40 km – 5 km), the restrictions are stricter:
- Road bikes only (gravel with knobby tires, MTB or other types are not included).
- Reduced cutting time and strict drafting regulations.
For those who want to compete in the Sprint on a mountain bike, the doors are open, as long as the bike complies with basic safety standards and is not adapted for triathlon (without long couplings).

If you are thinking of taking to the asphalt, don't leave your registration until the last day, as places tend to fill up in important championships.
This event is part of the Dutricup circuit, which will have its first competition on 16 March in the Rivas Duathlon.
