The Women's Triathlon of Madrid, which will have more than five hundred triathletes, has been presented at the General Sports Department of the Community of Madrid
With the support of the Community of Madrid as well as the Madrid City Council, the presentation began at 11.30 in the morning with the presence of Ms. Carlota Castrejana, General Director of Sports of the Community of Madrid, Ms. Mercedes Coghen, Director General of Sports of the Madrid City Council, Dª Sandra Ibarra, President of the Sandra Ibarra Foundation for solidarity against cancer, Dº José Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, Dº Lorenzo Bernal, President of the Madrid Federation and the triathlete, two times Olympian, Ana Burgos.
With the aim of being a promotional project to make triathlon known to the general public and specifically to women, D. Lorenzo Bernal opened this event where he welcomed the attendees, offering words of gratitude to all those who support this project, especially to the Community of Madrid and the City Council for opening their doors to this initiative, as well as to Laetus Sport for its involvement in the organization of this event for 5 consecutive years and to the Triathlon Store, TriMad, in charge of offering its "Home" to carry out guided training sessions together with the athletes who will compete next Saturday in the Women's Triathlon. One more year, the Olympic triathlete Ana Burgos participated in this presentation giving her support to all the triathletes who will take part of the starting line next Saturday and praising this initiative that makes each year more women who are “hooked” on this sport.
For his part, Mr. José Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, expressed his gratitude to all the people and institutions that support this project and wanted to make known his part of social commitment to which the Women's Triathlon is joining this year : The Sandra Ibarra Foundation for solidarity against cancer. During the event, Sandra Ibarra, wanted to convey a message of optimism to the attendees “By adding wills we can weave a universal network. Initiatives such as the women's triathlon and their support help us to open new paths that improve the quality of life and help finance research. Our goal, that one day we can say: Cancer can be cured "

The Women's Triathlon this year will bring together about half a thousand triathletes on July 14 at the Casa de Campo in Madrid, ready to beat their own challenges where each triathlete will have to complete a circuit of 300 meters to swim, 8 kilometers by bike to finish with 2 km of running on foot.
