The Women's Triathlon of Madrid, which will have more than five hundred triathletes, has been presented at the General Sports Department of the Community of Madrid

With the support of the Community of Madrid as well as the City Council of Madrid, at the 11.30 of the morning the presentation began with the presence of Dña.Carlota Castrejana, General Director of Sports of the Community of Madrid, Mrs. Mercedes Coghen, Director General of Sports of the Madrid City Council, Ms. Sandra Ibarra, President of the Sandra Ibarra Foundation for solidarity against cancer, Mr. José Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, Mr. Lorenzo Bernal, President of the Madrid Federation and the triathlete, two Olympic times, Ana Burgos.

With the aim of being a promotion project to publicize the triathlon to the public in general and specifically to women, D.Lorenzo Bernal opened this event where he welcomed the attendees, offering words of thanks to all who support This project, especially to the Community of Madrid and the City Council for opening its doors to this initiative, as well as to Laetus Sport for its involvement in the organization of this event during 5 consecutive years and to the Triathlon Store, TriMad, responsible for offering its "Home" for the realization of guided training together with the athletes that will compete next Saturday in the Women's Triathlon. One more year, the Olympic triathlete Ana Burgos participated in this presentation giving her support to all the triathletes that will take part of the start line next Saturday and praising this initiative that makes every year more women to "hook" to this sport.

For his part D. José Hidalgo, President of the Spanish Triathlon Federation, showed his gratitude to all the people and institutions that support this project and wanted to publicize his part of social commitment to which this year joins the Triathlon of Women : The Sandra Ibarra Foundation for solidarity against cancer. During the ceremony, Sandra Ibarra, wanted to convey a message of optimism to the attendees "Adding wills we can weave a universal network. Initiatives such as the triathlon of women and their support helps us to open new paths that improve the quality of life and help finance research. Our goal, that one day we can say: Cancer can be cured "

The Women's Triathlon this year will bring together nearly 500 triathletes next July's 14 at the Casa de Campo in Madrid, ready to beat their own challenges where each triathlete will have to complete a circuit of 300 meters by swimming, 8 kilometers by bike to finish with 2 km of running race.
