It has been the Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge with a time of 1: 59: 40.2, which means running at an average rate of 2: 50 min / km

To get the Kipchoge straight he has been accompanied by 41 'hares' (among them, the Ingebrigtsen brothers, the Ugandan Kiplimo, the American Lagat or the Ethiopian Selemon Barega in addition to having a car that set the necessary pace for them.

He did it on a completely flat 9,6 kilometer circuit in a straight line with two turns in roundabouts

The record is not approved

The 34-year-old athlete has only been defeated once in a total of eleven marathons - with a second place in Berlin 2013 -, and holds the world record, with 2h: 01: 39, a mark that the Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele was 2 seconds away from breaking in the Berlin marathon on September 29.

The record will not be homologated since the conditions of the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) are not met, although the mark will remain in the history of athletics.
