Emilio Martín and Alba Reguillo win the Doñana Challenge

Emilio has achieved victory for the second consecutive year while Alba, who will participate in the Ironman World Championship at GGEE, gets his first victory.

A sunny morning, 22º of temperature and little wind gave the exit to the VIII Doñana Challenge. After the ribbon cutting by Mayor Víctor Mora along with the president of the Andalusian Triathlon Federation, Pablo Castilla and the best qualified in the first line of start, the race began with a course neutralized by Sanlúcar.

 Already on the road cycling route through Trebujena, Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María, Rota, Chipiona saw the peloton outlining the best and lengthened more as the kilometers accumulated. The first rider was Juan Carrasco, leaving the clock at and the first female Marta López just behind the main peloton with a time of 2.40,18. Team cyclists Miguel Galán and Sergio Lorenzo had kept the main break until being neutralized by the group of favorites with Eloy Chimeno, 'Chamba' Castilla, Emilio Martín, Sergio Cruz, Basilio Polvillo and Dominique Fernando leading the first peloton. It was the Sevillian Cruz who took advantage of the swimming section to gain an advantage over the Huelva-born Martín to face the race on the beach, although finally the European duathlon champion ended up beating all his rivals to reach the finish line in just over four hours and media and win the Doñana Challenge for the second consecutive year.

 In the swim section the west wind affected a little in the surf at the mouth with the tide going down and also left notice in the race on foot. A total of 240 male finishers and 10 females, as well as 50 teams had reached the finish line when it was closed to the 19.00. That's how the classifications were:
