Spain, eighth in the Mixed Relay Triathlon World Championship

A viibrante and accelerated competition in which the members of the Spanish team fought until the end.

Spain reached a meritorious eighth position in the World Championships Mixed Relay Triathlon.

After the historic day of last Saturday with the doublet de Javier Gíomez Noya y Mario Mola, Hamburg opened its doors to a new edition of the Mixed Relay Triathlon World Championship. A glittering competition in which each of the four components of each team must perform a triathlon in distance supersprint, before giving the relief to the next teammate.

In the afternoon of yesterday, the Spanish team presented a young team, which was distinguished by the remarkable role offered by our four triathletes. All of them offered a very regular level to the whole of the competition, in order to enter the Top-10 final.

Tamara Gómez was the first to make the 300 m of swimming by the Alster lake, 6,6 km cyclists crossing the center of Hamburg to finish with 1,6 km of race on foot before giving the turn to Fernando Alarza. Miriam Casillas would do a great run on foot that would push the Spanish team to the eighth position and David Castro It would confirm the good role of our four representatives. A remarkable work of equipment that allowed the Spanish set to qualify in a worthy eighth place.

Up front, Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom and France held an intense duel, which was not resolved until the last third of the fourth relay. Vincent Luis stood out and marked the differences for the Gallic team, who proclaimed World Champion of the specialty for the first time in its history. Behind, the runner-up would be for the Australian team, while the British and Germans fought to the end for the third place at stake, with the British achieving the bronze in the last meters.
