This coming 27 Saturday in July, from the 16.30 hours, the XX will be celebrated Pálmaces triathlon from Jadraque; one of the most emblematic of our country, in which the spirit with which this sport was born is kept alive.
The test consists of 1.800 meters of swimming (in the Pálmaces reservoir itself), 60 kilometers of cycling (on a round trip to Atienza) and 12 kilometers of running (on a circuit from the streets of the village to the dam).
El Pálmaces triathlon it started in 1990 (in that first occasion with 80 participants) and since then it has been growing until now with a number of participants that round every year the 230 athletes. This increase in participation has been in line with its prestige and with the enormous affection that all those who participate in it profess; not only the athletes, but also the great team of volunteers who work in their preparations and throughout their development. That explains why the available places are covered every year right away. On this occasion, in less than twenty minutes via internet).
This triathlon is also a great opportunity to get to know a beautiful corner of Spanish geography, located on a small hill, next to the reservoir of the same name, north of the province of Guadalajara. Of course, you have to spend the Saturday before the 16: 15 hours, since after the entrance to the town will be closed to traffic from the CM101 to ensure the safety of the sporting event.
In the purely sporting and competitive it is necessary to highlight the great level of the participants. The winner of the 2012 edition stands out, Gustavo Rodríguez, which this year is a great rival as is Rubén Galván, current leader of the No rafting Series circuit and winner of several tests this year. Not forgetting triathletes who are very fit and who will fight for the podium like Brais Canosa, an international who last year was second and Daniel Múgica, third last year. Also highlight two triathletes of the Guadalajara Triathlon Club who will fight to be in the Top-5: Alberto Codinach and Adolfo Giménez.
In the female category, the Olympic triathlete and winner of 2 years ago stands out in Pálmaces, Ana Burgos, and Aida Valiño. Nor should the local triathlete be forgotten, Yolanda Santos, in great shape and will fight to be on the podium.
