Gómez Noya goes for the podium at the Stockholm World Series

Javier will have to finish 1st or 2nd to score points in this test.

On Sunday (15: 30 local and Spanish time) the penultimate meeting of the Triathlon World Series, those that grant the title of World Champion. She arrives Javi Gómez Noya as leader but already with the quota of four full scoring events (the London final counts apart from that quota).

To add points must be 1º or 2º since its fourth best result of the year is an 3º; difficult work, but for which arrives prepared. In the Swedish capital will be the faces for the first time since the Olympic Games with the Brownlee brothers in the Olympic Distance. A month ago they already met at the meeting Hamburg, but it was about half the distance, the so-called Sprint.

The British have only scored on the circuit in 3, hence, any result is worth them. The route is the same as in 2012 - when Javier was 2º after the youngest of the Brownlee, Jonathan - but with twice as many laps in each segment as it was then on the Sprint Distance. You swim in the bay next to the Royal Palace and the stretches by bike and on foot are very twisted by the historic urban case.

Gómez Noya He trained in his usual places in Pontevedra during August, with the intensity needed for a key event for the final result. The sessions on foot have been very good and both he and his coach Carlos David Prieto They are more than satisfied with the tests performed.

If the Brownlee are as usual strong is assumed that Javi will come out of the water with them and bike will go full, even more if any of the other triathletes with options in the third phase is cut. Whatever happens, it is worth noting the risky commitment of Spanish, which once again demonstrates its competitive nature and ambition.
