16 Spaniards will be in the test
El European Sprint and Relay Championships Balikesir 2024 marks the return of major international triathlon competitions after the recent celebration of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
This test, which takes place this weekend in the Turkish city of Balikesir, is a key event on the calendar of many European triathletes seeking to position themselves for future competitions.
This championship takes on special relevance for the Spanish selection, which will have outstanding representation in both the Elite and Sub23 categories.

In the Women's Elite category, the Spanish team will be composed of Marta Pintanel, Sara Guerrero y Noelia Juan, who will be accompanied by the young U23 promises Ana Carballo y Maite Jiménez-Orta.
In the junior women's category, Spain will be represented by Nevis navarro, Ana Onieva y Cristina Jiménez-Orta, who will seek to stand out in a test where the great European triathlon powers will be present.
For its part, in the Elite men's category, the Spanish selection will also present a competitive team with Genis Grau as the main representative, supported by the young U23s Andres Prieto, nacho galvez y Eduardo Blanco.
Although the test will not feature the participation of any Olympic athletes, many triathletes with experience in World Series and World Cups will be present, including names such as Casper Stornes, Valentin Morlec o Valentin Wernz among others.
In the junior men's category, Spain will be represented by Izan Edo, Jarno Pousada, Abraham Garcia y Hector Tolsa, who will compete against the best youth talents in Europe.
