Fabio Cabrera: “The Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote is the result of the efforts of a great team”
During the press conference presenting the Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote , held today in Arrecife, Fabio Cabrera, race director of the first edition, highlighted the joint effort of all the people and entities involved in organizing the event.
Cabrera thanked Club La Santa and its entire team for the work carried out to carry out this unique cycling event on the island.
"This is the work of an entire team."
Cabrera emphasized the importance of teamwork and all the collaborations that made this first edition possible. “ I didn't do this alone; it's the effort of the entire team at Club La Santa and all the promoters, as well as a joint effort with public institutions, municipalities, and private companies that have supported the event ,” Cabrera highlighted.
The race director also mentioned the support of the seven municipalities of Lanzarote, the Cabildo and the Government of the Canary Islands, as well as the collaboration of private companies responsible for security, signage and logistics of the event.
“ This event is possible thanks to the synergy between everyone involved, from the institutions to the private collaborators who ensure that every detail is covered, from the food for the participants to the safety on the routes ,” he said.
A non-competitive sports cycle to enjoy Lanzarote
Fabio Cabrera recalled that the Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote is a non-competitive cycling event, designed to enjoy the island's surroundings without the pressure of competition.
“ What we’ve been working on all this time is to remind everyone that this is a non-competitive event. We want to avoid overtaking and unnecessary situations. It’s an experience to enjoy and regroup at iconic spots in Lanzarote ,” he explained.
Among the highlights of the route, Cabrera mentioned the regroupings in emblematic places on the island, such as the Mirador del Río and the Castillo de San José, thanks to the support of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centres of Lanzarote and the influence of the legacy of César Manrique.
"These spaces are not just stopping points, but offer participants the opportunity to enjoy the unique culture and landscapes of Lanzarote."
An event with great institutional and social support
Fabio Cabrera expressed his gratitude to all the entities and people who have made the Vuelta Ciclista a Lanzarote possible, highlighting the atmosphere of collaboration and support that has accompanied the event since its inception.
“ This project is a dream come true thanks to everyone’s hard work. We feel supported by every person and institution that has contributed to making the test possible ,” Cabrera concluded.
