Confirmed the date of the Triathlon in the Olympic Games of Tokyo

The International Triathlon Federation (ITU) has announced the dates for the triathlon and triathlon competitions for Mixed Relays at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020

The masculine test will be the Monday July 27 of 2018 and the July 28 It will be the turn of women. The mixed relay event debuted at the Olympic Games will be held on Saturday 1 August

Individual races will be held over Olympic distance (1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of bicycle and 10 km of race), in the fantastic scenery of Odaiba Marine Park. Mixed relay teams will bring together two men and two women from the same country, each completing a mini-triathlon before taking over from their teammate.

A total of 110 athletes, 55 men and 55 women, will compete in Tokyo 2020, with relay teams formed by countries with a minimum of 2 female athletes and 2 qualified men, according to the different ways to achieve it.

To date, 30 triathlon medals have been contested, which have been divided among 13 countries. IN male category the British Alistair Brownlee he has been gold twice in London 2012 and Rio 2016, and accompanied him on the podium both times was his brother, Jonathan Brownlee

In the female category, Swiss athletes took gold twice, in 2000 and 2012. Nicola Spirig is the only female triathlete who has won two Olympic medals, taking the gold in a spectacular sprint in London 2012 ahead of the Swedish Lisa Norden
