The Toledo triathlete Fernando Alarza, has achieved his third victory in the race (2012, 2016 and 2017) with a time of 1: 45: 31, while the young Barcelonan Marta Sanchez, has won the women's race with a 2 chrono: 02: 39 in the tenth edition of the Barcelona triathlon by Santander, which was held this morning in the Catalan capital.

The participation of 3.600 runners of 25 nations has made it again the first in Spain, in terms of competitors, increasing the record of the last edition.

The excellent temperature (18ºC) and the gentle wind on the Barcelona coastline have allowed good records to be achieved. And Alarza thus achieved his third victory in Barcelona, ​​after those of 2012 and 2016, with total authority.

In the swimming race (1.500 meters) Adrià Muñoz (Fast Triathlon) prevailed, with 17:09, but Alarza was third with 17:12, a second behind the Venezuelan Luis Miguel Velasques (17:11)

The Talaverano gave a recital in the 40 km. on a bicycle with a record of 53: 46, beating in one second Velasques (53: 47) and in almost five minutes to Pol Clemente (CN Barcelona), third with 59: 04.

It was clear that Alarza had the victory in his hand and in the 10 km. On foot he certified it by winning with 32: 17. Guillem Rojas (Prorunners Barcelona) was second with 35: 15 and Adrià Muñoz, third, with 35: 20.

Velasques could only be fourth with 36:11 and that gave the absolute victory to Fernando Alarza with a total of 1:45:31. The Venezuelan was second, with 1:49:26, and Guillem Rojas, third, with 1:55:39.

The young triathlete from Vic, Marta Sánchez, who last year had a prominent role in the Barcelona event, has achieved her first triumph in the race with a total record of 2: 02: 39, beating in only 11 seconds to the Madrilenian Ana Mariblanca, champion of university Spain, second with 2: 02: 50.

Catalan Laura Gómez, runner-up in Europe in Duathlon and runner-up in the Cross Triathlon world, has arrived 31 seconds, finishing third with a time of 2:03:10.

In the swim test, Marta Sánchez won with 19: 10, second was Anna Flaquer, with 19: 47, the same time that Mariblanca and Gómez was delayed with 21: 07, but she recovered time in the cycling section, winning with 59: 07, while Marta Sánchez could only mark 1: 01: 09 and was threatened by Mariblanca (1: 00: 35).

Everything was left for the 10 km walking race. and Marta Sánchez gave a blow of authority, winning with 39: 32, twenty seconds less than Ana Mariblanca (39: 52) and 36 less than Gómez (40: 08)
