Gentle Ashleigh and Bevan Dochertyse win in Edmonton, Zuriñe Rodríguez arrives in15ª position

The Australian Gentle Ashleigh and the New Zealander and double Olympic medalist Bevan Dochertyse were proclaimed winners of the Triathlon World Cup in Edmonton, Canada yesterday. Representing Spain Zuriñe Rodríguez with a time of 02:03:02, arrived in 15th position and in the men's category the Spanish Jose Miguel Pérez, 01:49:46, and Ramón Ejeda, 01:51:47, were 35th and 49th respectively .

The Australian and current junior world champion Gentle Ashleigh was proclaimed the winner of the Triathlon World Cup in Edmonton, Canada yesterday. With a total time of 02:00:14 she beat the Slovenian Mateja Simic, 02:01:06, and the Austrian Lisa Peterer, 02:01:07. Mateja Simic made history by being the first Slovenian to stand on the podium in a Triathlon World Cup event. Paula Findlay, who started as the favorite of the event, and who also competed in her own country, had to leave due to a hip injury.

In the men's category, New Zealander and double Olympic medalist Bevan Docherty took gold with a time of 01:46:47 “I like to race here, I think Canada is very similar to New Zealand in the weather, so I adapt well, I also feel that I am in good shape. I'm happy with how things are going ”

The second place went to the French Aurelien Lescure, 01:46:49, and the third for the American and triple Olympian Hunter Kemper, 01:46:54. A total of 76 men gathered in this test, the Spanish Jose Miguel Pérez, 01:49:46, and Ramón Ejeda, 01:51:47, reached the finish line in 35th and 49th positions respectively.
