Great performance of the Spanish paratriathlon in South Africa

At the start of the international season, the Spaniards have reaped a total of three medals

 

 

The five Spanish paratriathletes present in the first competition of the ITU World Paratriathlon Events 2015 they have obtained brilliant results, in a day that has been developed in Buffalo City, in the Republic of South Africa this March 1.

At the beginning of the international season, the Spaniards have reaped a total of three medals, which were joined by notable performances of all our representatives.

The city of Buffalo City, in the East London area located on the southeastern coast of South Africa, offered circuits consisting of an initial segment of swimming 750 m with the start and finish located on Orient beach, followed by 20 km cyclists for a route integrated by curves of 90º, which included some slopes with gradients of 9%. Finally, a stretch of two laps (5 km in total) by a flat stretch in front of the beach of the town of the Eastern Cape.

 In spite of the heat, the humidity and the hardness of the routes, the Spaniards have surrendered to a very high level, in an appointment in which Eva Moral in category PT1 has reached the gold medal. As long as Rakel Mateo I did the same, climbing to the top of the podium in PT2.

In the male categories, José Vicente Arzo conquered the silver medal in PT1. For their part, the two Spaniards in the PT4 category also left a good impression, with Toni Franco achieving a remarkable fourth place and Rafa Solis ranking in eighth place.

Good start to the international season for our paratriathletes with outstanding performances.

It is worth remembering that Madrid will once again receive an ITU World Paratriathlon Event this coming 10 in May, coinciding with the Triathlon European Cup and the day dedicated to the 9 Popular Triathlon in May; all these competitions will take place in the Madrid lung of the Casa de Campo.
